Fasting Part 1
Fasting. We’ve all heard about it. But what does it actually do? How does it affect us? Is it good? Is it bad? Today, I’ll tell you a little bit about the pros and cons of fasting. But first, a little story…
A little over half a year ago, There were some health issues that my family was going through. Things that could only be solved by serious medical help. Sadly, we didn’t have the funds to go to the hospital. Right around that time, my mother was sent a link to a documentary. The documentary was about fasting. We watched it as a famiy and after it ended, my family decided to do a 40 day water-only fast the very next day.
Let me tell you, that was one of the most difficult things I have ever done in my life. I am not going to lie and tell you that it was easy or that I was fully prepared. You simply can’t prepare for something like that. But you CAN plan things out beforehand.
I will tell you, however, that after the first couple weeks, it got MUCH easier. At first, the hunger pangs were almost unbearable. My mind said, “No, not food. We will get through this,” and my body said, “ARE YOU CRAZY??? WE NEED TO EAT.” For a while, I actually DREAMT of going to a buffet and eating food. Yeah, it was THAT bad.
After about three weeks, the pangs had subsided. I had found a new normal. The time that I would use for eating, I used for work and productivity. I was alert and energized, ready to take on anything the day had for me. My muscles felt very weak, but, overall I felt okay.
Finally, after 40 days, I had successfully lost about 35 pounds and almost ALL of the health issues that were plaguing me and my brother were gone. After another couple weeks of re-feeding, I finally felt 100% again. In fact, I felt 120%
In the next part, I will explain how fasting works and the different kinds of fasts that you can do and how effective they are…

Yes, i believe in fasting. It’s in the bible. i have personally put fasting to the test and my blood pressure and sugar readings have normalized through time. The body was designed to heal itself and there are times that a break in eating gives it the body the rest it needs. Everyone has their own viewpoint but for me fasting really works. i have learned to only eat when truly hungry and to eat a portion size if the right foods ( avoiding processed foods) I have become a plant based eater only and noticed much changes in my health and i skip a breakfast that some say is the most important meal of the day. m This is not necessarily true. By researching other countries and how often they eat and what they eat i had found out that many of these people are healthier, live longer and are full of energy. With this said , i’m doing great with intermittent fasting and seeing many great health benefits and lost weight keeping it off with so much more energy.

Michael,
Yes. Intermittent fasting really works. It is important to monitor your health vitals, especially if you have conditions that may contribute to your health situation. Keep up the maintenance on your body!
