New clothes

As a bigger guy, finding clothes that fit (in my country) can be difficult. Let alone clothes that fit COMFORTABLY. That is even more difficult. I wear a 2XL in shirts and tops and 42 in bottoms. Wherever I look, there is always small medium, large, and extra large, but rarely 2XL. As for pants, shorts, and underwear, I almost NEVER find pieces in my size. So when I heard from a friend that she was selling a wardrobe of clothes in EXACTLY my size, I immediately jumped at the chance.

Obviously, the clothes weren’t the woman’s. The woman was renting a small efficiency to the original owner of the clothing.  He was about my age and had just recently passed away. Because of that, she had to clear out his efficiency of all of his clothes and stuff for him. He had no local family, so they asked her to take care of it for them. I felt sad for the man and expressed my condolences to be passed on to his family.

When I was first called, I was just told that there were only shoes. Since they were my size, I figured I would take a look at them. When I got there though, she started talking to me about all the other stuff she had. Pants, jeans, shorts, shirts, polos, underwear, boxers, as well as the shoes! I started asking about prices. Everything she had was being sold for more than 90% off the original price/worth. And this guy was a sharp dresser. It was like Christmas! I bought almost everything she had. I got 5 shorts, over 20 something shirts, two button-downs, as well as other items, and 8 pairs of shoes, and to top it all off, three bottles of beard oil.

The best part about the whole lot was probably the shoes. I only had one pair and it was not in the greatest shape. But now, I have over 8 pairs of GOOD shoes! Most of them were name-brand too!

I know how difficult it can be to get good clothes. That’s why I appreciate it so much! Although it is always sad to hear of someone passing, I appreciate the clothing and have put them to good use.
